Privacy, in plain language

For adults, and for anyone who wants to know how Bell & Brooke handles voices, sessions and data.

How the microphone works

When you tap the talk button, the app listens to understand what you like to read. The voice is processed to turn it into text and is not kept as a recording.

What we keep

On the device, we remember your reading appetite and mode so you can pick up quickly next time. If you set up the member area, your reading life (what you have finished, what you put down, what you are after) is kept on your own account so the concierge can remember you. None of it is public, sold, or compared with anyone else.

What we never collect

No date of birth, no address, no phone number, no location, and nothing about who you are beyond what you choose to tell a conversation about books. Your first recommendation is free and takes only an email address, kept so we know that free recommendation was yours.

What happens after

When a conversation ends, the session is deleted. An hourly cleanup removes expired data automatically. We keep anonymous, grouped counts (such as how many books were shown) to improve the app, and never anything that identifies a reader.

Outside services

Book information comes from Google Books and Open Library. The concierge's replies are generated by an AI service. To keep the conversation natural, it receives the current back-and-forth so it can follow what you just said, but nothing is kept as a profile and the conversation is not stored after the session ends. Your email address, if you gave one, is never passed to it.
